1. Acceptance & operating model
By accessing, registering, or creating an event on Trendtyx (operated by Sentient Consulting Services (company number 09768864, registered office 354a Hollinwood Avenue, Manchester, UK M40 0JB), "Trendtyx", "we", "us", or "our"), you (an "Organiser" or "Attendee") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Trendtyx provides software that lets Organisers create, publish, and sell tickets for events, and process the resulting payments.
2. Financial architecture — non-custodial Direct Charges
Trendtyx operates via Stripe Connect Direct Charges. Each ticket payment is processed directly between the Attendee and the Organiser's own connected Stripe account (Stripe Payments UK Ltd is the payment processor). At no point does Trendtyx receive, hold, or take custody of Attendee ticket funds — money settles into the Organiser's own Stripe balance as part of the same transaction that collects Trendtyx's fee, not afterward and not via Trendtyx.
Trendtyx's current published platform fee is 57p per paid ticket on the Starter plan (discounted to 29p for tickets priced under £5.00, or for organisations approved for the Charity/CIC discount tier, and to 25p for organisations approved for the broader not-for-profit/social-enterprise tier — discounts never stack, and are granted only after a manual review of an uploaded registration document), or 0% for organisations with an active Pro subscription. A free ticket never carries a fee. This fee is deducted automatically as part of the same Stripe charge; it is not billed or collected separately. Stripe's own card-processing fees are separate, are set by Stripe, and are not collected by or paid to Trendtyx. Fee terms are also published on our Pricing page, which governs if this section and that page are ever inconsistent, pending correction.
3. Pro subscription billing
A new organisation's first Pro subscription (monthly or annual) may be cancelled within 30 days of its first payment for a full refund, provided no paid ticket has been sold under that subscription (free tickets don't count). This guarantee applies once per organisation, regardless of monthly or annual billing.
Outside that window, or once any paid ticket has been sold under the subscription, or after the guarantee has already been used once, cancelling stops future billing but does not refund any amount already paid — Pro benefits continue until the end of the current paid period, after which the organisation automatically reverts to the Starter plan and its per-ticket fee.
4. Organiser responsibilities & warranties
Organisers represent and warrant that they:
- hold all legal rights, permits, venue permissions, and performer/licensing consents required to host the advertised event;
- provide event descriptions, ticket prices, dates, and restrictions that are accurate and not misleading; and
- will not use Trendtyx for unauthorised raffles or gambling, illegal goods or services, hate speech, or unlawful content.
5. Identity verification
Organisers cannot accept paid ticket sales until they complete Stripe Connect's own identity verification process, which may include business registration details, identity documents, and bank account confirmation. This process, and the specific information it requires, is set and administered by Stripe, not Trendtyx — we do not operate a separate verification system and do not set Stripe's underwriting criteria.
6. Fraudulent activity
Creating a false event, misrepresenting what attendees are paying for, or collecting ticket revenue with no intent to deliver the event is a serious matter that may constitute an offence under the Fraud Act 2006. Where Trendtyx reasonably suspects fraudulent activity on an account, we reserve the right to:
- suspend or terminate the account and disable its active checkout pages;
- notify Stripe of the suspected activity, which may lead Stripe to independently review or restrict the connected account under its own risk processes; and
- disclose relevant account records to Action Fraud (the UK's national fraud and cyber-crime reporting centre) or the police, where we are legally permitted or required to do so.
These are rights we reserve and may act on manually; this policy does not represent that Trendtyx operates automated, real-time fraud-detection infrastructure beyond Stripe's own account verification and risk tools.
7. Event cancellation, postponement & refunds
The Organiser is the merchant of record for their event. If an event is cancelled, postponed, or materially changed, the Organiser is responsible for refunding affected ticket buyers within 14 calendar days of the change. If an Organiser does not do so, Trendtyx reserves the right to issue refunds directly against the Organiser's connected Stripe account on the Organiser's behalf, recovering the refunded amount (including Trendtyx's own fee on that order) from the Organiser's balance.
The Organiser agrees to indemnify Trendtyx for chargebacks, disputes, and reasonable associated costs arising from an event the Organiser cancelled, materially changed, or failed to deliver. Amounts owed to Trendtyx as a result may be pursued through normal debt-recovery channels.
